Howard Russell Heath was a school woodwork teacher at Eaglehawk Bendigo, also California Gully Ballarat, Ashby S.S., and was later a headmaster at Wonthaggi. He was a freemason. His wife Emma was also a teacher. I have some other stuff about his career but haven't typed it up yet.

His sister Lillian Pyke is buried in a plot owned by him in Box Hill cemetery. He was guardian of her three children for about a year, until Joyce turned 21.
